I went here for Mass as I could not get into the Cathedral for the pilgrims' Mass. There were about 6 people in front of me in the queue when they said 'completo'. The Mass in San Francisco was lovely
That hill is a stinker, isn’t it? When I volunteered at the Pilgrim Office in late June/early July, 2019, I did the Mass reading several times, both at the noon Pilgrim Mass and the much less crowded evening Mass. It is certainly a beautiful church.I had to run up there, behind the altar, every day before sermon, to hand over yesterday's pilgrim statistics, when I served as a volunteer in the Pilgrim Office last summer...
Edited to add: All masses were held in San Francisco, since the cathedral was closed due to renovation. San Fransisco is just 100 m. away from the office, up a sttep hill.

In 2014 I received a special Compostela from the Church of San Francisco to mark the 800 th Anniversary of the pilgrimage of St Francis to Santiago. This was in addition to the Compostela issued at the pilgrim office.
