Hi doing the Portuguese coastal camino in September starting in Pòvoa de Varzim and finishing this time in Vigo
Wondering can I wear runners on this route or do I need boots and can I get a bus/train from porto airport to my start point around 7pm when I arrive tks

A selection of Camino Jewellery
Runners should do on the Portugues way as no real mountains to cross there, the terrain is rather flat. I walked mostof the way in Apr-May and in late Oct both times in no name city walking shoes, was ok, although I guess I was lucky with the weather as well. You can get from Porto airport to Povoa de Varzim by metro, it works till late, so no trouble there.

If you stay along the coastline-not into the hills about one kilometer from the beaches-you walk most of the time on boardwalks. Between Esposende and Viana do Castelo you will meet one dirt track up to about 175 meters altitude ( between Castelo do Neiva and Chafé)
The last part from about Baiona to Vigo you can follow green arrows which lead you again along the beachside instead of into the hills.
