Starting next week the coastal camino from Porto
Hey guys, I am starting coastal route next week. I might have read too much about it, there is just so much information....makes me more confused than anything else.
That is why I would like to ask:
We have ca 10-11 days. Does anyone hove some interiary we can use?
What is the price of accomodation? I saw many different prices, we want to use the cheapest options, I was hoping for albergues around 10 E per night.
I plan to download the app as well, but it would be helpful to hear from you.

Thanks and stay blessed!

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
My son and I are also hiking the Coastal Way - just after you get started. I have researched this subject a lot as well! The Coastal Way is 161 miles and the Central Way is 150 miles. Surprisingly, the Coastal Way is mostly inland but meanders along the coast at times (which iis not very pleasant after October when the rain and wind begins), whereas the Littoral Way truly follows the coast (this route is not really recommended!). The Central Way passes from one historic town or city to another with beautiful scenery and tiny villages between. I think we will hike the Coastal Way for awhile, then cut into the Central Way, and add the Spiritual Way, too! I didn't find a specific itinerary as you are looking for but we plan to hike an average of 13-14 miles per day to complete our Camino in 11 or 12 days.

I like this website, as it mentions so many useful things! The cost for albergues should be around $8-$12.

And if you haven't downloaded Maps.me (or similar), you should, and then these routes and albergue files can easily be added to your app. This is the most popular and highly recommended. It's very easy to do on your mobile phone:

Don’t be put off by the Senda Litoral route. I completed the Portuguese Camino two weeks ago, and took the Litoral at every opportunity. It was a true pleasure to be right on the coast and there was no difficulty in finding your way. We did have beautiful weather so I’m not sure about the change of season.
Walking out of Porto is not that great. I didn’t talk the SL that day, but in hindsight should have.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
Just curious where you would start on the Central Way if not from the center of Porto.

It still starts from the centre, but follows the river/coast out rather than walking through the suburbs. Adds about 3 or 4kms to the first day which is why I didn’t take it. In hindsight it would have been the better choice.
All 3 routes start at the cathedral

Thank you so much!

Ideal sleeping bag liner whether we want to add a thermal plus to our bag, or if we want to use it alone to sleep in shelters or hostels. Thanks to its mummy shape, it adapts perfectly to our body.

I'm intending to do the reverse: walk out of Porto on the SL and then switch over to the Central.

Thank you so much for all the useful tips :)

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
