Computer acces near Sarria (urgent!)

Time of past OR future Camino
Planning to walk Camino Frances (part of it) for the first time in june 2019.
I have sort of a weird question, but does anyone know if - and where - you could get access to a computer and have a private Skype conversation around Sarria?

I am currently on the CF in Villar de Mazarife, and on the 24th of June I have a job interview scheduled. Very bad timing, but it is sort of a spontaneous opportunity.

I am therefore looking for recommendations for hotels with business centers, Internet cafes or library’s with sort of privacy or perhaps an albergue where I could borrow a computer w webcam.

It doesn’t have to be in Sarria! I just assumed it would be the most plausible because of the size of the city.

Price of hotel/albergue is irrelevant.

I am praying for some help here!

Hola Helen and welcome to the Forum. I wrote out the following response and then realized you needed access to a webcam for your job interview. I don't have advice about how to find access to a webcam, unfortunately, but I'll leave up my response in case it helps you at all :). Can you use your phone as a webcam?

My original response, when I thought you just needed Internet: "Your best bet will be to look on Booking.com for a hotel room with proven internet access. Camino cafes would be too loud and not private enough, and for something as important as a job interview I'd control the environment as much as possible. On Booking, click on "I am travelling for work" and under Property Type you can click on the filter for "Hotels" and then under Facilities you can click on "Free Wifi" to start. Then you might just need to read reviews or email the hotel directly to see if there's good Internet access in the room itself.

One thing to note is that many hotels have their check-in time at 3pm and check-out time at 11am or 12 noon. Just make sure being "homeless" from 11am to 3pm will line up with the time of your interview.

Also - something to be aware of is that June 23 and 24 are big days here, as the Festival of San Juan will take place in many towns. During this festival (usually the night of the 23rd) people build up fires, grill sardines, and wisely or unwisely jump over the fires. So accommodations may fill up - if you find something that suits you I'd book it early.

Hope that helps and Buen Camino!"
Faith

St James' Way - Self-guided 4-7 day Walking Packages, Reading to Southampton, 110 kms
Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles
Download Skype on your telephone. If you are not from Europe and need data go to Orange and for 20 Euros you can get 10 gigabytes of data.

Ask for "locutorios". They used to be public phone booths, but nowadays are kind of cybercafes, favored by young people and migrants. I can see those in Sarria:
Ciber Sarria: Rua Toleido Open 10:30 hs
Paseo do Malecón 14. From 11:30 to 14:30 and 15:30 to dawn (?)
Remember that the weekend could modify opening times.
Since they are frequently little businesses, they open and close. Ask hospitaleros.
The complete list is here

Go to a proper hotel, usually three or more stars. There are several in Sarria, especially on the East Side of the river.

They will “generally” have a PC you can borrow, or pay to rent. Always offer to pay.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

€83,-
Try Whatsapp videochat on your phone. You'll need a good internet connection though.

Network with your fellow pilgrims? I know someone on CF right now carrying a laptop who is video conferencing with their employees as need be.
