i have a digital camera that takes a lithion-ion battery. i'm definitely getting a back-up battery, but has anyone had experience using a charger for these on the camino?

my manual says not to use converters with the charger, but i think that may just be them making sure they are not responsible for anything bad that *may* happen, whether it's slightly possible or really possible.

or has anyone found a charger for spanish plugs so that no converter is needed?

i'm going to ask the camera shop too, but from my experience, online research / public opinion is much more fruitful with info than any store clerk .

thanks,
paul

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
At most medium/large grocery store you can find these chargers in Spain, normally by the checkout stand. I got mine at Carrefour. It comes with a few chargeable batteries as well.

Look at the specifications to see if this is fits with what you are using. I have a feeling it would be easier to buy something over here, instead of trying to get your to work over here. As you can see, mine says 220V-240V, so this one would not work with any 110v installation.

Remember that the little plug ($3) that you get a RadioShack only works if your appliance says 110V-240V.

Greetings,
Ivar

If your camera's battery is a proprietary battery, designed specifically for it, and not one of the commonly purchased other Lithium-ion batteries such as AA, AAA types, etc, then your charger that came with your camera, and designed specifically for charging it's proprietary battery, most likely will work within the range of 100V-240V, either 50-60 Hz, so will work as well in your 100-110V, 60Hz current as in Spain's 240V 50Hz current. You just need to purchase the adapter that changes your plug's flat prongs to the rounder European ones, plug it into any available wall socket and wait for the charge indicator to indicate "finished"!.
