Yesterday I found the thread titled What do you do when you cannot walk anymore?

The answer that occurred to me was immediate: Time to write !!! That post is old, but very current, now that some of us are locked up at home or will be, not knowing what to do. Surely there are amazing and wonderful personal stories from many of the forum members. I mean stories of illness, accidents, pain... those circumstances in which most of us cowed by them did not.

And the present conditions are the best:

There is time for it.

They like to write and they do it well, they would have to write a minimum and a maximum of pages.

They love the Camino.

They need to walk the Camino now but it has to be otherwise, why not through the memories?.

They like to support, stimulate and transmit enthusiasm.

They have a sense of responsibility to the Camino and to keep it alive no matter what.

I do not know any other forum - and I know some - with the personal and cultural level of this forum, it is a mine to exploit, you just have to let each member begin to remember and speak ...

This is the moment when you can do it. I have read amazing and exemplary things from enough forum members to be sure that there are even many more that are unknown but similar.

We need to know them !!!, they are the kind of stories that enrich the Camino, that teach us to live for all. WE CANNOT LOSE THEM !!!

Today, editing a good quality book on the Internet is easy and cheap, just send the text in PDF format, and for example a book of 15 x 21cm and 210 pages, with an edition of 300 copies, costs € 1,135 , less than € 4 per book. More pages or more copies cost very little more. And simply choosing a title, among all the possible ones, for a book like this, is already an interesting challenge ...

They could be sold through Ivar. I imagine that several editions would have to be made ...

Many Voices, One Story

Chapters could be thematic - eg., first caminos, the unbeaten path, courage, overcoming obstacles, elders. women, humor etc etc etc...

It's a idea at all, @gmag. It would need a strong-minded editor without fear of censure....

The title is very good. The idea of the chapters is excelent!

If the idea goes ahead, the creator of the winning title (right now you) and the writers of the published stories deserve a prize, albeit small and almost honorary, (apart of course from their copyrights, excluding editing and selling expenses, either online or in a store in Santiago ...)

Self editing via Internet, there is not censure. We do for years self editing the Dutch language books of Anita and they just print good books, the content is not important for this kind of new bussiness via Internet. Also, in a book with that kind of story nobody could apply any kind of censorship, I guess.

My son is a surgical nurse. Some hospitals are running out of masks. I've decided to sew mask covers in my spare time from home. These are made of fabric that can be washed and will extend the use of the surgical masks. If anyone wants a link to a good page of tutorials and patterns, PM me.

Can you just link it here?

Writing is a great idea!! In fact :) I just wrote about how it is time to follow our inner Caminos now

Here is a page with several different face mask patterns.
The patterns are PDFs
There is a video tutorial for each I believe.

We're making them as covers for regular surgical masks, to make the regular ones last longer.
They will not protect you like a "regular"surgical mask will, but they WILL protect you about 60% as well. And they will protect OTHER people if you have a cold, etc.

Best fabrics to use are 100% cotton teeshirt fabric or tightly woven pillowcase fabric.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
Here is a page with several different face mask patterns.

Workmate made them for everyone of us . we are lower risk social workers/carers so this way the " real masks" are for our colleagues in the hospitals.

Also here in Belgium builders associations are donating their masks to the hospitals.

They say great mind thinks alike... weeelll.... I had an idea a little like this.

I was going to ask pilgrims to tell me their stories and anecdotes... I plan to compile them in location order along the towns and villages on the camino. It doesn't have to be the CF as I'll insert all of the stories in stage order towards Santiago.

Everyone has a story... something spiritual, or funny, or bizarre, or peaceful, or a camino angel, or the opposite, a night of snoring or illness or cold or a storm, a great meal, a coincidence... or anything... we all have standout stories and moments that we can recall. Send me your stories and I'll try to do you proud!

I am calling it Chapter and Verse... feel free to send me your story... I just need your first name and the camino and location on the camino... and of course your story.

Casa Ivar has their wall map of Spain & Caminos for sale for 10Euro. I just ordered one with the idea of placing a push pin at every stop, and my favorite photo for each day below. I'll post a picture of the project when I'm done. I admit, it's not the same as walking across Spain.
