Time of past OR future Camino
Sept 22
Hello. Earlier this year I saw photos of the streets being decorated for Corpus christi and I'm thinking that when I do my next camino, probably 2026, that it would be nice to help with the decorations. Anybody have ideas for where/who to contact to see if I can volunteer? Most likely in or around Melide.

Thanks, eric

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

This happens during many fetes throughout the year in town's venerating their patron saint or a major religious holiday. You can find it happening anywhere.

The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.
The most awesome Corpus Christi floral decorations are in Carrion de los Condes. Different area clubs of mostly ladies lay them out over a couple of days previous, and there's a big fiesta in town. I know one of the ladies behind it, I've asked her about learning how/helping out, and she wasn't exactly enthusiastic about an outsider coming in... the group's got its dynamic all set, I guess.
Still, hers is not the only group doing it. If you are really keen, just show up a couple of days in advance, and make freinds with some of the groups you see chalking the designs onto the pavements, and see what develops.

Yes, the photos from carrion look marvelous, but timing of my trip puts me well past there, and it looks like they have a celebration in Melide.

Just met soooo many nice people on the Camino that I’m hopeful to be able to do something in return.
