Camino Francais to Santiago
Yesterday Mr Trump said that he may ban flights from the UK, so that option could soon disappear.

We're in a pandemic. Everyone should stay home. Wear a mask in public. Read books. We need to sacrifice the freedom to travel until the world is safe. We need to pray.

Mr Trump said this in March! The news article is dated 14 March 2020! It's 20 September 2020 today.

In the middle of March 2020, when this thread was started, different Camino groups in Spain had issued warnings and urged people to stay away. This is no longer the case. Yes, camino pilgrims and walkers and travellers must carefully consider their plans, must follow their government's advice when at home or abroad, must follow the Spanish government's advice and that of other Spanish authorities when in Spain, must inform themselves as well as possible and continuously. Good and reliable information is vital. But the time of blanket warnings is gone. And we all ought to accept this, whatever our own personal position regarding our own actions or non-actions is.

I'm on the Camino now in viana, the Spanish are out in force, sitting in the streets, chatting. Everyone wears a mask: joggers, cyclists, dog walkers are all in masks. Today I walked into the terrace area of a café and immediately an old customer, wearing a mask, told me to wear one. So it's business almost as usual. If you're in the US you can't come over, but there are pilgrims film the EU on the Camino now. Maybe a dozen or more in this albergue tonight. The Spanish need our money. Many Camino businesses will not survive but we can at least try to save some of them.

Since this thread was started in March 2020, almost a pandemic ago, to make a recommendation from Ivar and the moderators that was applicable specifically at that time, this thread is being closed to further discussion.
