Credencial Confusion

So, reading all these recent posts about the new rules for credeciales has gotten me confused. The answer to my question is probably buried somewhere on this forum or on the internet, but like said, I'm confused. And apparently a little lazy.

Basically, I just want to know what I need to do to get a credencial if I am planning on starting in le Puy.

Thanks,
Katie

P.S. I know I've been asking a lot of questions, but everyone on this forum has been so incredibly helpful. It's such a relief to have a resource like this. Thanks!

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
If you are starting in Le Puy you can just go to the sacristy in the Cathedral and get one from there. It is a credential of the French church, and is quite attractive with a colour photo on the front.
Plus, there is a 7am morning Mass that is followed by a pilgrim blessing, often given by the Bishop of Le Puy if he is there. And after that, the nun present gets credentials for those who need them.

I just checked the Cathedral website and the hours for opening the sacristy seem to vary by season:
April to September : 10h-12h and 14h-18h; July-August : 10h - 18h
October : 10h-12h and 14h-17h
November to March hours aren't every day.

I would highly reccommend that early morning pilgrim mass in Le Puy! It's one of my nicest memories of the camino!! They do all the technical stuff with credencials right afterward and most of the other people there will be getting credencial as well or at least getting it stamped so its all very easy.

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.
