Hi. Am arriving in Santiago tomorrow but wonder can I get the credencial any day or does it have to be the day you finish? Many thanks.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
Do you mean "can I get the compostela any day ?" If so, yes. You don't have to get it on the day you finish a camino.

Or, you can do what I do, and go the following day, after you have relaxed cleaned up and figured out how you want to spend your time. I always advise folks to book ahead and spend at least two nights at Santiago. It is a magical city with a lot to see.

FYI - Stay away from the Pilgrim Office from 10:00 - 16:00. That is when the queue is the longest and the wait usually exceeds 90 minutes.

In my six-years experience as a volunteer working these queues, my advice is to either be there at or shortly after the 08:00 opening time, 7 days a week; OR come by at dinner time (for everyone except the Spanish), that is from about 5:30 to 7:00 pm. The queue is still present but is generally less than 45 minutes.

Hope this helps.
