Credential - How long is it valid for?

Hi,

I walked the VDLP in Autumn 2009 from Seville to Ceceres with a Credencial issued in the UK by CSJ. I intend to complete the walk from Ceceres to Santiago in April this year 2012.

Does anybody know if can use the same passport? - there are plenty of spaces for stamps remaining for the months journey and ideally i would like to have all of the stamps from Seville to Santiago in the one document.

Many thanks

Down bag (90/10 duvet) of 700 fills with 180 g (6.34 ounces) of filling. Mummy-shaped structure, ideal when you are looking for lightness with great heating performance.

€149,-
The credencial won't expire so don't worry. I used my credencial for a part Camino and then for a second Camino, no problem. Only when I had the Santiago cathedral stamp did I feel it was complete. Returning to complete the Primitivo was the time to apply for another CSJ credencial. I am considering photocopying the first pages and sticking them in so that my Primitivo stages are all there together.
If you feel that you will be short of pages you could ask for another CSJ credencial to follow on, or photocopy some blank pages to add in.

I plan to pick up a credential in SJPDP rather than get one from CSJ but it may still apply.

Just curious...how many places for stamps are there on the credential? Does it vary much depending on where purchased?

The 9th edition the Lightfoot Guide will let you complete the journey your way.
From the Cathedral webpage
The pilgrim has to abide by the rules above mentioned if he/she wants to obtain the “Compostela”. The recent revival of the Way has caused the creation of an official model of the pilgrim’s credential.

Printed in this cardboard, it consists of 14 pages to be opened as an accordion. The first and the last ones are at the left side of this page. The second – below – is a form that functions as a recommendation letter and has to be filled in the pilgrim’s parish, in a Christian association, abbey, confraternity, etc. At the bottom, there is a specific place for the last stamp with the corresponding date once you are in the Pilgrims’ Office, where you will also be given the “Compostela”.

In the following pages the pilgrim will find a place where to put on the stamps of the refuges, parishes, confraternities, etc. On the other side there is a series of maps with the different Ways to St. James. Finally, one of the pages contains the following directions for use.
Twelve pages have space for 8 sellos each. Some large sellos will use two spaces.
