They say that well-born is to be grateful. So in 1983 , six British pilgrims who had done the Camino de Santiago decided to return the favor to the pilgrimage route creating the Confraternity of Saint James, to support and provide advice to others who want to walk from Britain to Compostela.
More than a quarter of a century later , the brotherhood sum 2,000 members committed to the cause of solidarity and manages two shelters , one in Rabanal del Camino ( León) and another in Friol . To meet their facilities, the organization has volunteers hospitaleros shifts at 15 days.
