cycling from Oloron to Somport

Has anyone cycled the camino, that is the waymarked camino trail, from Oloron to Somport? Can it be done, or will I have to cycle along this horrible N124? I drove along the road last autumn and it was so narrow in places and to my taste it had too much traffic. On the other hand, I'm sort of wary of rocky and muddy tracks. Any advice?

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Hi there,
I did a few Google searches and it seems that people do cycle the Aragones from Oloron St Marie.
Here are two online diaries:

If you speak Dutch you could read this pilgrim's blog on his ride through Oloron to Spain.

Hi my wife I cycled the Arles Route in 1997 and as I recall we had no problems cycling up the main road from Oloron to Somport. It was in fact surprisingly quiet. I say 'cycle' but we pushed most of the way as our bikes were so heavy due to us being washed out in our tent the previous evening! The good news is once at the top of the Col (where there is a cafe/restaurant) you can virtually freewheel all the way down to Jaca in Spain!

Regards

Dale
