Cycling VdlP: prevailing winds?

A quick question for all the VdlP experts on here: my wife and I plan to cycle the VdlP, leaving Seville mid September 2018. Is there a prevailing wind direction? It makes a big difference on a bike. I am guessing/hoping that if there is a prevailing wind, it will be S, SW or at worst W, ie off the Atlantic. N would be a disaster obviously. Any thoughts? Thank you.

Hello James H .... I cycled the V D la P starting in Seville in late September 2016 , so roughly the same time of year and do not remember any annoying winds , just slightly annoying temperatures 30/34 degs on many days . I was drinking at least 3 ltrs of water most days . I loved almost every turn of the pedals , even when i was alongside my bike pushing it .:p .
I Plan to cycle from Malaga this September so i would not mind a bit of a northly breeze to help me along .

Wishing you a good time .

Regards ... John

Hi James. I am planning on doing the same ride around the same time so maybe we will see one another. What day were you guys thinking of starting your ride. I start my ride with a bunch of other kiwi cyclists from San Sebastián via Santiago then we finish the ride in Porto. Was thinking of carrying on down to Lisboa as have walked the Camino Portuguese in 2016. If not then I’ll probably fly out from Porto to Seville and start my VDLP around 18-19 Sept. Buen Camino.

I’m at Almadén de la Plata at the moment, and my options for tomorrow are to go as far as El Real de la Jara (approx 14km) or continue on to Monesterio (approx 34km). 34 km is a bit far for day 4...

For anyone around Sevilla, next Saturday marks the end of the annual week long fiesta. I have just had a conversation, as I do weekly (to help her with English), with a friend who is from there...
One route looks a bit steeper, one a bit longer (not much). How else are they different? Recommendations?
