Deaf people in Santiago

I´m in Zamora and have met a couple of Spanish Deaf people who have told me that there are a lot of Deaf people and Deaf organization in Santiago. Does anyone know about this? I work with Deaf people half of my time and it would be fantastic to meet more Spanish Deaf people.

Andy - I did a post some time ago on the artist - Jose Maria Acuña - who did the scupltures of the two pilgrims pointing the way to Santiago from Monte de Gozo. He also did the one in bronze in Leon. He lost his hearing at age 4 and was the pioneer of an organisation for the deaf in Galicia. Perhaps you could check up on him?
