Although it is perhaps invidious to single out any one death from among the thousands of casualties around the world, those of you who have read Tim Robinson's Stones of Aran: Pilgrimage and Labyrinth, his Connemara trilogy and subsequent works, will be saddened by his death from Coronavirus. He was a distinguished artist, cartographer, polymath, and a scholarly and sensitive writer on landscape and history. He died, in a London hospital, a fortnight after his wife. May they both rest in peace.

Thank you for this alert - I am unfamiliar with his writing, but have just ordered some from the library.

I hope you find his books as enriching as I do.

That is very sad and close to home, somehow.

Can any other kiwis tell me what time this is?

Experiments on Reality was the only one available electronically so that is where I have started. What an astute mind, gentle humour and delightful wordsmith.
Bizarrely the library has only the second and third books of the Connemara trilogy. Are they best read in order?

No, you can read them in any order. Experiments on Reality was his last book; I'm sorry that there will be no more, but I'm glad you're relishing it.
