I am not using this website currently but still get some emails. Is there a way to deactivate my membership or do I have to block the email sender? I don't really want to block it since I may come back in the future

I am on my phone at the moment so it is harder to check, but yes you can be a member and get no emails. Go to your account/name and look at the settings - preferences, perhaps. Scroll down and you'll see some options for emails
Probably someone will come on soon and tell you exactly.

You'll likely be back sometime so it is nice to feel like a member!

I want to delete my account. I shouldn't be a captive to membership
Captive!? I'm sorry. I misunderstood and thought the emails were the essential problem. Send a message to @ivar and he will delete your account.

You can unsubscribe from the emails, so that you will never ever get a single email.

Thank you. I may just block the site rather than start a new conversation for something that should be a click away

It really is only a few clicks away. If it were just one click, it would be too easy to inadvertently delete things. ;)

Be aware that blocking the website on the web browser will not make the e-mails stop. In order to stop receiving e-mails, you need to unsubscribe from the mailing list. If you want to delete your account (still not sure you have an account as you show as guest), just follow the previous advices and email Ivar and ignore the website from there on.
Just to let you know.

And it is, in fact, a few clicks away. Please don't be unfair.

For personal data stored in the EU there is the "right to erasure" or the right to be forgotten under the General Data Protection Regulation.

But why would you give up on such a worthwhile site..
We live in a free world so people have a choice .

Wish you well,Peter.
