Dinner for 16 in Logroño - any suggestions?

Some friends of mine (16 walking club members) are walking from Saint Jean Pied de Port to Logroño next month. They’d like to celebrate their arrival in Logroño with a nice dinner.

They asked me for a restaurant recommendation, but as I’ve never stayed in Logroño or walked with a big group, I’m pretty useless to them! Do any of you wise CF folk know of a place that could accommodate 16 happy peregrinos?

I can understand them wanting a celebratory dinner, but to me Logroño = tapas crawl! So much fun!

Agree with @trecile there - Calle Laurel, I believe, is the place to be! I tried to get here when I was last in Logroño, but there was a massive wine festival and it was completely packed. Will try again in September!

I’d second that. Calle del Laurel and the continuing street (del Peso?) are great. Having the speciality and drifting along the street is a great way to spend a relaxed evening. Other than at the weekend the bars which often only open at 1900 or 2000 do still close surprisingly early. By 2300 on a Monday through Wednesday, it’s all over. If you split into smaller groups and re-grouped hourly you would have a great time, and socialise more.

I’m sure there will be several formal restaurants in the centre and someone will be along shortly with a recommendation.

Nuala, Café Moderno, beside the Cinema may work. Popular locally, not expensive but for a group that size may need to book in advance. The food is typical of spanish menu del dia, the wine is excellent, find it via Google Maps, right in centre...

Calle Laurel (as said before) in all its lenght can easily take care of 16 hungry and thirsty peregrino(a)s for few hours

If they don't know what tapas/pintxos are that would definitely be much more memorable experience than to sit in some darkened dinning room.

I'm sure you know the saying "When in Rome..."

Well, since Spaniards have tapas before dinner, your group can do both! I think a stroll down Calle Laurel and then dinner at 10 or so would be a great way to end their camino. I don’t know anything about fine dining, but TripAdvisor’s number 1 restaurant is Kabanova, kind of a foodie place from the looks of it.

I'd recommend Pasion Por Ti, along Calle Laurel. We had a group of 18 eat there last summer, including someone with limited mobility. The food and service were great.
