Cadiz is a beautiful city, we spent a few days there in 2018, a camino also starts there from a small church, Iglesia de Santiago Apóstol, you can easily fit in a Camino then.

Thank you for this link! It is indeed unusual that such high walls of a Roman bath are left standing. I immediately thought of nearby Baelo Claudia that is mentioned in the article and that we had visited many years ago during a sea-sun-sand holiday on the Costa de la Luz. In imperial Roman times, there was a flourishing fishing industry along the coast of Cadiz and the widely popular 'garum', a fermented fish sauce, was manufactured there and exported to all corners of the Roman empire.

It is possible to start the VdlP in Cádiz. I wish we had done this as we ended up walking to Muxiá and it would have meant we'd walked from the south coast of Spain, the whole length of the Iberian peninsula to the northern coast. The VdlP was, of course, a Roman road (hence the name, from balata - Arabic for paved) and before that a neolithic via pecuaria (i.e. drove road) for livestock wintering in the south and being herded north for the winter. There, will that do? Oh sod it, just go there. I'll be jealous as hell.

This looks very interesting - perhaps a side trip from the Camino del Estrecho, which goes from Algiceras to Puerto Real near Cadiz, where it joins with the Via Augusta from Cadiz.

Although I haven't studied it carefully at all, I see there is some information in the Via Augusta section of the forum. In particular @Brandy posts about his walk in March 2018. Then in another thread here, @islandwalker provides a link to tracks from the Asociación Gaditana Jacobea.
