Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Hi, Waka,
Just to clarify, are you talking about the route that goes Lisbon-Coimbra-Viseu-Chaves-Verin and on to Santiago? That's the "Caminho Portugues Interior," but my understanding is that there is a part of that route, between Coimbra and Santa Comba de Dao, that is not yet marked.

Or by interior do you mean "non coastal"? That would be the more common Lisbon-Porto-Tui-Santiago route, and estimates place the distance at about 610 km. Bom caminho, Laurie

Thanks for the info, trust me not to make myself clear. Yes, I was talking about the non coastal route. Brierley has this down into 23 stages.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

(note to consider: forget these so called stages a la' Mr B. chuck out that guide. - why? all the 'trouble' i ever encountered on the CP was due to 'trusting' info in the B-guide. can't recommend that one at all...)
CSJ has very good info! - as well as the notes Laurie has compiled (with many of us who contributed) and thas is available on this forum.
much preferable - but that's of course just my take / experience.
bom caminho -

@amorfati1 thanks for the information, when I did the CF last month some pilgrims had the CSJ guides, and I'd say everyone found them very good.

And here's a link to two guides put together by forum members, which amorfati mentioned:

Lisbon to Porto (2105 version): https://www.caminodesantiago.me/community/resources/lisbon-to-porto-2015-version.298/

Porto to Santiago (latest is 2014): https://www.caminodesantiago.me/community/resources/the-camino-portugués-–-oporto-to-santiago.124/

And one last thing -- if you want to see how to be creative and cut some of the long 30+ stages into more manageable distances, take a look here: https://www.caminodesantiago.me/community/resources/short-stages-from-lisbon-to-porto.133/

(I hope to be updating these resources soon!)

@peregrina2000 Thank you for the links, I can see that it'll make interesting reading.
Hi. I did the Costal from Oporto and it was wonderful. Fewer than 500 did it in 2014 on a few nights I had the municipal hostel to myself !! If you want an uncomplicated time it's a great adventure still and the way in very well marked

@Waka, I logged my daily progress via GPS along the CP from Lisbon to Santiago with a total of 670 km. I used all of the documents listed above and found them very useful. I walked varying stage lengths, including some very short days when I was walking with another pilgrim from Lisbon to Porto, and some rather longer ones when I set off from Porto alone.

You may find some helpful information on my blog where I posted live from the camino every day giving information about accommodation and distances covered.
Bom caminho!
