Polls are fun, in my opinion. If your answer is 50/50 on two different answers, choose the one you prefer.

Just so you know, I am just interested, I will not write a book or a blogg or use the answers. I am just interested in the people walking the caminos.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.

Looks like you've run out of ideas for the 10 options as I see I have always been walking together with family three times in addition to I have mostly been walking together with family and I have mostly been walking together with friends and family ☺.

Why not distinguish in the poll between: walking with my adult child/children; walking with my minor child/children; walking with my partner; walking with other family; walking with friends?

I did plan to walk alone, but I did only walk the first 3 stages from SJPdP to Pamplona "alone". After Pamplona I did found parts of my Camino-family, that build up, break up, build up again. It is astonishing how fast you get to know people with the same interests and the same goal on the CF.

I did not realize this before I have walked the CF.

It is one of the main experiences of my CF.

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Whilst I voted for "mostly walk alone" its my limited experience that even if you are walking with a close friend, significant other etc you find that you walk at different speeds so you may have 50 or 100 meters between you. It will be interesting to see how the survey pans out. Cheers

Ooops, I thought I changed the two copies to: I have always been walking together with friends and I have always been walking together with friends and family. How to contact a moderator at this forum?

About your second comment regarding children etc. Feel free to start a poll. :D It could absolutely be interesting to know.

I have walked with family members four times, and with two friends one time whom I'd met initially on one of my family routes. This spring I will be walking with two family members who are newbies to the camino..

On my first Camino, (SJPD) I planned to be with my brother, we had different styles and speeds which meant we travelled apart most of the time.
On my second, (Porto) I planned to walk with a friend, that's what happened.
On my third, I arrived to SJPD alone and whilst I walked by myself for about a third of the time, the rest I spent with the lovely people I met on the way.
This year, I'm planning to walk the Primitivo with my son. -If I can keep up, hopefully, he won't find me too tedious....

I prefer walking alone; however, there were occasions when I would walk for a few hours with folks from other lands. In all, I met and interacted with people from over 30 countries. Usually, this was in the late afternoon/evening once settled in for the day. I like the solitude of walking alone during the day, coupled with the later-in-the-day camaraderie of others who share the same goal of getting to Santiago. I walk alone because I pause frequently to savor where I am in history; lean over bridge railings until I spot a trout; or take off my pack, and lay on my back to watch the starched white clouds of Spain drift by. I should probably change my avatar to "Hopeless Romantic." Sigh...

I walk however I can. In 2016, I walked with my son. In 2018, I set out by myself but was happy to walk with others when they were available/interested or by myself when they weren't. For my next Camino, I will be happy to walk with family or friends if any want to do so and experience the Camino. Or, if none are, I will be happy to set off by myself. In that case, I am likely to start with the Camino Madrid, so I expect a fair amount of solo walking, but I will be happy to walk with others if, as I meet them, they are amenable.

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I always used to think I would walk alone but in my reality I simply like walking, sharing the experience. I found I really liked those I met along the way. Simply give those that want time alone their wish, respect is everything.

The Camino is like ice cream - it’s all good. I walked six weeks on El Norte with a friend and a married couple we met the first day. I’ve walked Lisbon to Santiago, mostly solo but several days with an Irishman and a young Italian woman, a day with a couple of Australians, one day with a young Japanese fellow, and with one of my sons on the French Camino.

At 2.5 miles an hour, like on my treadmill, it makes sufficient progress in a day to satisfy me but I was left in the dust by most companions. The term Human Race is often misunderstood.

Individual satisfaction with accommodations, environment, or flexibility can be an issue just like going on vacation with family. It’s a great opportunity to enjoy your Attention Deficit Disorder which may be incompatible with the Fitbit-ers counting their steps.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
The first time, I walked it with a good friend, but next time I will walk it alone.

It's varied for me, I have walked the Portuguese with a friend, which became quite jarring after a few days, I have met up with my partner twice on Camino, which despite my initial reservations turned out to be a lot better than I could have imagined. I have also walked alone on busier caminos and on quieter ones or met people and walked with them. I was supposed to be walking alone in April but on a wattaspp group I share with people I met on Camino over Xmas and new year I let it be known I was going back in April to do the Camino Geira, over the next few days that had grown from me to at least 5 Camigos, another 4 joining us that I know off, I look forward to it but I recognize that it could be a challenge and I might have to forego some usual expectations that I usually have, and there has been walking schedule been agreed😆.which is a novelty for me.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
I walked with friends last year but in truth spent most of the day walking on my own as we liked to walk at different speeds. This year I am returning to walk another chunk of the Frances but on my own, although I expect I will end up walking a bit with camino family I meet on the way.
