Done: SSJDP to Santiago 811km, Nov./Dec. 2013
Plan: LePuy route July 1, 2018
Hi,

I had this thought yesterday about my next Camino. I have done SJPDP to Santiago last year - 811km. Looking to do a Portuguese portion of the Camino from Porto to Santiago. Planning to start near April 18 or 19.
Thought it would be nice to send out an international invitation to all of you who would like to start on those dates. We could plan on meeting there and be "starters" for at least our first day. Or simply share plans from there on. Let me know... Could be fun.

Cheers,

Funny you should say that, dandagenais. I was planning to walk the CP this Autumn, but constant and long-term ill health has stopped play. I almost gave up the idea of walking the Camino, then it occurred to me that I could at least try, even if it means shorter walks with more frequent stops and lots of rest up days inbetween. And it was only yesterday that I decided on April next year.

I'd probably be miles and days behind everyone else, lol, but starting together with others would be great. And, it would give me an actual date to work for instead of some vague, woolly idea of 'sometime next Spring'. :)

Hello Eileen, ...hey that's awesome!! no so for your health problesm - sorry to hear. Nothing better than fresh air, walking and something to look forward to. So let's keep in touch for a D date! I'll come back to this thread to reach you and others that wish to join our celebrated start in Porto and perhaps walks some of our first steps together. We can then also exhange e-mails to make it easier.

I wish you a good preparation. Looking forward to meeting you.... and if this is your first Camino and you have questions, please do not hesitate.

Cheers,
Daniel

My wife and I will be starting mid-April 2015 from Lisbon. All going well we might go past you (or you might see us huddled on the roadside) somewhere after Porto

Depending who fast you walk but you'll need about three weeks to walk from Lisbon to Porto
You will definitively miss them out.:)
Great walk.
Prepare your journey. Read back on this forum I advise. There changed a lot between Lisbon and Coimbra. More albergues to stay since we walked it last year.
Vialusitana issues the latest information. Look for recent posts of Peregrina2000 on this forum and you will be up to date ! Bom caminho

That's awesome! But i think Lison to Porto will be much longer than 3-4 days.... Enjoy! What a gift this is....

Hi there. I'm from toronto. Never walked the camino and looking to start in April. I'm on great shape and health and can go pretty far at a brisk pace.

Bonjour Daniel, j'ai hésité cette année entre le Portugais et le Primitif, mais le Primitif a gagné, cette fois-ci. Next year I think I will do the "Certificate Run": Tui-Muxia- Fisterre-Santiago. My wall will be covered in certificates ;0) But this year, I will challenge my fasciitis on the Primitivo and we'll see who wins!

Salut!! great stuff, you will absolutely enjoy it. I have changed my plans a bit. I will be going to Peru this year instead!!) With my son... But, in 2016, for sure I am going back to the Camino. But after discussions, I have decided that I'd rather do LePuy to Cahors, or seomthing in that range.

Sorry people, going to hit the Salnés at the 20th of April. Anyone around Pontevedra during that time wants to join a group of 4, you are very welcome :)
