I'm wondering if anyone could give me advice on what they found good and bad about their choice of camera, go-pro, iPhone, etc. to document photographically their journey along the Camino. What did you use, what would you have done differently, how successful were you, and lastly any ideas about how to creatively document by using something I have not mentioned above?

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.

After my first Camino I realised that the less you have to worry about the better. So now I don't take anything electrical except my phone which does multiple tasks as well as helping me keep an eye on my family. Mostly used as a camera, a little as a guide (my guides are there to save weight), as a book, and also for music (rarely). I have one with an exchangeable battery with it's own charger so I never have to leave my phone behind, be tethered near a charging point or not have it with me to take photos.

If you only want to post to social media or your own blog, pretty much any camera, including phone cameras will do. For quality check of different models see http://www.flickr.com/cameras If you want to create bigger print outs you should look at a semi-pro compact like the Canon G series. Extra tip: If you have two memory cards and switch them each day you avoid losing too many images in case one of them fails.
