Does anyone have experience buying from Amazon.es?

I just discovered they sell the fuel my hiking stove uses. Wouldn't it be easier/cheaper to buy it from Amazon.es and have it shipped to a hotel along the Camino, than to ship it from the U.S.? Amazon.es is still kind of new so I'm not sure how reliable/efficient they are and I've had shipping problems with the U.S. Amazon site (stuff taking months to arrive).

It does not answer your question directly, but I have bought from amazon.fr several times, and the service has been great. I would expect the Spanish site to work equally well. Good luck!

I too have had great service from Amazon.fr, though I get a few emails selling "le viagra" after each order!

Amazon.es is quick and efficient. The problem is more likely to be whether someone in a hotel would sign for your delivery and would they hold it for you till you arrive. :?:

They're all the same. They're the same to the point that if you order something from one of the EU sites it might be shipped from a different country then your order. I think the UK is the largest group so many things are shipped from the UK no matter which country you order from.

Final thing. Companies tend to like shipping to the address on the credit card.

I don't know, I'm sure big one's do, I just wonder about little ones. If you have had experience of doing this then I am sure you will be OK. Just warn them when you book

Once again, I did not read the entire first post.

Stove fuel is a special category. You might have trouble getting it shipped. If you ship it to the US (something Amazon in Europe is very good about), you may not be able to bring it on a plane.

You ought to be able to find it in many local stores. If not I'd get rid of the stove.

I know you can't carry it on an airplane. I want to order it from Amazon.es and ship it to a hotel in Spain. From what I understand it's difficult to purchase liquid stove fuel on the Camino del Norte, and impossible to purchase solid fuel (which I use).

I recently bought a new laptop battery via Amazon.es . The experience was very similar to the many times I have shopped at the other Amazon sites, the item arrived right on time and well-packaged, and it is powering this computer as I write. No complaints at all.

Make sure you clear the delivery with the hotel before you ship anything there.

I think that I would suggest checking if the hotel is happy to store this as it is obviously flammable and might present a fire risk unless stored properly and conforming to any fire regulations they have.

Might it be easier to buy a small stove in Spain and then the locally available fuel.
