In relation to Aric Sigman's article last week (see thread: Is this forum bad for our heath?) I have found the following which seems to suggest the opposite:-

Ko & Kuo (2009) found that bloggers enjoyed an enhanced subjective well-being. Far from increasing loneliness, blogging (and its increase in time spent online) was actually found to be positively related to one’s happiness.

Shapira et al. (2007) found that older adults who used the Internet increased their overall well-being and happiness as compared to a control group who did not.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Hello,
this forum makes extremely happy. Where else could I get up to date information? How could I "meet" other pilgrims in so big numbers? How else could I keep my mind in peace? During the three weeks I´ve been visiting this forum, I´ve learned more than I could never dream. Now it´s easy to plan further and finally walk the first Camino.

Ivar,
This forum is immensely useful and inspired us to embark on the journey, certainly made us happy, and we look forward to the day when you are successful in opening your center in Santiago. We would then be able to tell you in person how grateful, and happy, we are with your hard work on this forum.

€2,-/day will present your project to thousands of visitors each day. All interested in the Camino de Santiago.
I live in an isolated place that can be very lonely. I can´t tell you how often this little community has made me know I still am part of a big world of good people. And people who speak English!

Yeah, I´m happy!
