Have just heard the sad news that Don Jenaro Cebrián Franco, Head of the Pilgrims' Office died yesterday on his way back from O Coruña where he had been visiting family.
Don Jerano was ordained on September 21, 1957. In 1961, he was appointed Incumbent of the Cathedral, a position he exercised simultaneously with teaching at the College Peleteiro, and, from 1976, at the Instituto Rosalia de Castro. From 2004 he has worked in the Office of Pilgrimages and was appointed Deputy Diocesan Pilgrimage in 2006, a position he had in the time of his death.

The funeral and burial will take place tomorrow, Thursday, January 3, in the SAMI Cathedral of Santiago de Compostela, at 12:00.

He was a great and gentle Christian man. The fraternity of Peterborough Pilgrims owe him a great debt for the encouragement and open acceptance he gave to a protestant fraternity. I look forward to chatting with him beyond the blue.
