No plans to return, yet.
It gets trickier.

We need to be back in Biarritz 11 days later for an Easter flight.
We know we won't be making it to Santiago this trip, so our options are various.

How about walking from the airport to SJPP?
Heading inland by bus for the Aragonese?
Heading inland on foot for the Aragonese?
Bus to SJPP and start the standard French route?
What about the tunnel route?

I have browsed the forum fairly extensively, it is difficult to know which way to go for the least road walking. Comments are very welcome

Cheers

PS We are fit-ish, fat-ish and fifty-ish, nightclubs are not a priority. :(

Hi Finisterre,

Everybody is looking at your post, but none of us really seem to know what exactly you want to know.

Why don't you get the train to Bayonne, the bus to SJPP, walk over the Pyrenees and on to Logrono and then bus it back to Biarritz. If you are a fast walker you might even make it to Santo Domingo de Calzada and see the White hens in the Cathedral.

Buen Camino,

Lydia

Or you could stroll along the Camino del Norte to Bilbao or even Santander, provided that the weather from the Bay of Biscay is not bad.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
Transport luggage-passengers.
From airports to SJPP
Luggage from SJPP to Roncevalles
Cheers - yes a wishy washy rfc - I was hoping someone would say something like

This.
"I have walked all those routes in early spring and the flowers were particularly spectacular on the Aragonese, It is definitely worth going out of your way for them"

Or.
"Avoid walking from the airport there is a big hungry dog"

Or.
"Just get a taxi from the airport, the bus will have gone, it is only forty Euros to SJDPP and you should be there in time so you can start walking on Thursday"

This.
"you will be walking on paved roads if you try to cross the Mountain passes in March."

Nothing too technical, just a few words of advice/ comparative experience. But we shall be fine whatever happens. Caldaz de Reis is the target if we walk from SJDPP.
