Drinking Tubes for Water Bottles

I like the idea of converting water bottles to a "hydration pack"rather than using a hydration bladder.

I have found these 2 (similar) options:

They seem to come with slightly different sized adaptors to fit different sized bottles, so i'm not sure which one to buy.

I'm looking for feedback on either, re their suitability for bottles purchased both along the Camino, and in Australia.

I have been using the SmarTube since 2013 and find it great. I use it with a .75L water bottle in the outside pack pocket with another spare bottle in the opposite pocket. You can order a straight or right angle mouthpiece. I re-use the water bottles until they need to be changed. Rince out the tube and fittings every day.
The other tube seems to be a similar but dearer option.
The smartube comes with two bottle cap size fittings.

I bought a SmarTube, but even though it says it fits all "standard" water bottles, I haven't found a bottle here in the US because we stubbornly resist conversion to the metric system. As our European compadres have said, the SmarTube works fine for them, and I'm sure it will work fine in Spain, but if you're in the US you'll need to find a bottle with metric threads on their caps for it to work around here.

Let me add just a bit to this. If contemplating the use of metal (aluminum or stainless) water bottles, there doesn't seem to be a standard cap thread.

Agreed. US also, and I use the SmarTube on 1 liter, collapsible Platypus bottles. Works fine.

Love the Platy bottles. They are so lightweight, virtually indestructible, last forever, never stink..... and the SmarTube makes them that much more versatile.

One improvement however would be cap that was tethered. I'm always in danger of losing mine when I attach the SmarTube.
