Early, early Spring Camino

We will be arriving in Spain March 14 and intend to be on the Camino for about a week before we must go back to the States. My hope is to walk the entire way to Santiago de Compostela...but only a little at a time. Does anyone have an idea of what St Jean Pied de Port to, say, Pamplona would be like mid-March? Also, is there any where we can store a suitcase for a week? We will fly in to Bilbao.

It was a year ago yesterday (March 8, 2008) that I started out from Roncesvalles. So, I'm envious of your upcoming trip. As you'll find by reading this site, the weather is quite variable so it is hard to say. When I walked, there was snow and so most of us walked on the main road rather than the camino proper. Those who stayed on the off-road trail in the snow had a bit of trouble. Somewhere on the descent between Roncesvalles and Larasoana--the quantity of snow diminshed greatly and I resumed on the marked trail. I'd say that if there is snow to walk on the main road.
Enjoy it.
