For those who prefer to follow the beach on their caminho northwards it has been increasingly easier with added board walks on the dunes going north of Porto.
Recently some additions have been make to extend and connect portions of boardwalks.
North of Póvoa, in Aguçadoura, Praia do Mestre and Praia de Santo André are connected and from praia da Aguçadoura new boardwalks goes north to Praia da Barranha.
Right now there is either a promenade or boardwalks, on the edge of the beach from Espinho to the southern point of Esposende council.

Sadly for me as a mountain-biker, the previously accessible boardwalks are now forbidden. Although there a many sections of cycle path parallel to the coast along this same region.

It should make it easier for those who want to walk the beach to have some respite on sections, and for those following the arrows, a walk even closer to the sea.

Right now (1st Nov.) and for the last week it has been wonderful weather for the walk. I would normally advise against walking the coast at this time of year on the count of the rain, cold, and wind pelting you with sand.
