hi all,
I'm going to stay my Camino trip tonight, but still struggling whether I need to bring my own electric hot pot with me as I used to drink hot water everyday.
Is it easy to get hot water in every albergue?
Your answer will be much useful for me
Many thanks,
Jenny

Hi, Jenny,
Welcome to the forum! On the Camino Frances, even a committed electric coil fanatic like myself would say you don't need to carry the extra weight. https://www.caminodesantiago.me/com...ric-coil-changed-my-life-on-the-camino.19167/

Many albergues will have a way to heat water, but on the Frances you are never very far from a cafe with hot drinks available. I started carrying a coil to heat water about 5 years ago and wouldn't leave home without it, but I walk on Caminos where the cafes are few and far between and businesses are not set up to deal with pilgrim schedules because there are so few of us. I think you will find the extra weight not necessary. Buen camino, Laurie

Technical backpack for day trips with backpack cover and internal compartment for the hydration bladder. Ideal daypack for excursions where we need a medium capacity backpack. The back with Air Flow System creates large air channels that will keep our back as cool as possible.

Hi Jenny
I brought a small electric coil and a camping mugwith me to boil water for tea - it's been fantastic. Not all Albergues have kitchens or microwaves but they all have power points. I would definitely recommend.
Buen Camino

Thanks Gumnut, I will see if I can get the coil, as the 1 kg hotspot that I have is really too heavy to me. Cheer, J

Yes, 1kg is too heavy! Like others have said, on the Camino Frances you are never too far away from a Cafe or similar and a lot of albergues have a basic kitchen. I never bothered to take even an electric coil with me but the mileage of others do vary. Buen Camino, SY

Hola, I gearing up to start my 1st CdS and have seen people recommended sleeping bag liners to protect against bed bugs. Do these help or is it a myth? Should I add the extra weight of bringing one?
