If anyone has used different methods for this delicate operation it would be good to share them here, for the benefit of pilgrims who get into similar difficulties with their gourd. It may also be helpful for the Confraternity of St James to produce a leaflet, as gourd repairs may be necessary in places where internet connections are unavailable.
