My husband is the safety coordinator for his company and a lot of his crew work outdoors. The company supplies these workers with a cooling system you wet and wear around your neck. I got one today at Lowe's, followed the instructions and 45 minutes later it's still cold. Granted I'm not wearing it but on the table it's cold. You can wear it around your neck, on your head or on your face. The brand I got was Enduracool (I do NOT work for them, only in my experience, I just like the product. Lots of companies make them) . Thought I'd pass this along if anyone is interested.

Get a spanish phone number with Airalo. eSim, so no physical SIM card. Easy to use app to add more funds if needed.
I have an Ergodyne Chill It's Towel (my fiancee' gave it to me) and it's going on Camino with me. @soozansings, I don't know if yours is the same style or material. This one is kind of a hand sized towel and when wet it feels like some kind of rubber! It's a strange thing but it works for hours! I use it in the car on longer trips to block the sun and keep me cool. This thing takes a long time to dry out AND, it's washable. I don't work for this company or any company like it and make no money from this. If you are a man or woman that runs on the more HOT side, try one.

So agree! Mines like a wide long tube. I wet mine at about maybe 1:00 and is still chilly.

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
Evaporation cools -- not so well in humidity, though. Microfiber probably has nothing on that cotton bandana you have had for years. Dip your Tilley hat in the fountain. It will cool, too. Embrace the physics concept, but detach it from a brand!

I would use it if it was made by Walmart Corp. I live in Florida, lots of humidity. I've seen generic ones save lives during heatstroke in Texas oilfields. I'm sold. But, to each their own.

We used a similar product last year. It worked very well and had the added bonus of serving as a spare towel.

@falcon269, I get what you're saying about evaporation and have dipped my Tilley on more than just one occasion. Problem is that Tilley, cotton, microfiber, etc. are cloth fabrics which dry out much too quickly. Not so with these (at least my) towel...it actually stays far below the ambient temperature! It's not about the brand, it's about the high tech material it's made with. I can't even call it a fabric...it's something you'd just have to lay hands on to experience for yourself. ;)
