Hi all. I hope you're all keeping well. After 12 months of being stuck inside at home I decided to dig out my old camino clothes and go for a walk.. that's where the problem manifested.. Has anyone else experienced their clothes have shrunk (or shrank.. I've mulled it over for too long and now both words have completely lost their meaning)..
I'm assuming it's a defect in the manufacturing process.... My shoes still fit fine but my trousers not so much and my t shirts are that tight they're nearly see-through. Surely it can't just be me that this has happened to?

Hugs etc

I find that this is common for clothes that I leave in a drawer for too long. Perhaps they need sunlight to prevent shrinking.

On the other hand, on rare occasions, I've found the opposite to occur. When I went on my 2016 camino, I found that the clothes I'd left behind had grown in my absence. I assume my wife left them out in the sun all day every day while I was gone.

It’s a common problem. Aside from the fabric clearly shrinking in storage I’ve found that manufacturers constantly try to shave cost by making their clothes smaller and smaller. Whilst a pair of 30” waist trousers was comfortable thirty years ago I now find that, to achieve the very same fit I have to buy garments labelled 36 or 38”. It’s a scandal.

Greetings all. I was scheduled to start in Porto in a few days. Went for a 20 km hike yesterday (my longest thus far) and almost didn’t make it. By the time I got home, I could hardly walk...
I have a confession. I am terrified of - and yes now feel free to laugh - the top bed in bunks with no railing/fence (something to stop you falling out). I've managed to get away with it except...

What are your favorite restaurants, bars, hotels, inns, etc on the Camino Frances NOT in albergues please? Gracias.
Yes, pardon me. So I've just read this cool article about the closing of the Puerta del Perdón in the Monastery of Santo Toribio for the holy year (and it is a very beautiful peurta for sure). It...
