Hello all,
Does anyone have a favorite place to equip in Barcelona? I'm looking for quality used stuff, as I'm doing a winter camino on a limited budget and most of that is going into quality footwear.

Thanks,

David

Hi - there are three Decathelon shops listed. Always worth checking out.

I'd also visit the Corte Ingles which is right at the Plaza Cataluna (with a great top floor cafeteria). They have a good selection of gear but they can be pricey - just ask the sales assistant if they can recommend other shops with hiking gear.

Good luck

John

David, hope you've already got your boots & beginning to abuse, funny thing which is obvious, people wore out their soles boots during English F&M very quickly because they had to walk on the roads, off piste is best. Personally I would find it too stressing to buy last minute stuff & get used to it. Mind you I reckon if you really wanted to go down budget, why don't you list your list & sizes here & see if people will be generous & post their hand me downs/lend me downs.

Read recently Sill lent some socks to a friend........you can always ask!

I have a matt or 2!

Yup, already breaking in the boots. They won't quite be ready in time, but I'm shortening my first several stages to take this into account.

Thanks for the idea, but I like to be able to see the stuff in person to make sure it will work for me. I would hate to not use something someone gave to me, I would feel like I was misusing their generosity!

Hello all,
I finish outfitting in Barcelona. For anyone else who means to do this, I recommend both the Decathalon store on c/ Canuda and Esportes Mananes, which is just down c/ Canuda from Decathalon. Between the two I found everything I needed. Hopefully this saves someone else some time!

Buen camino,

David

Hola, I gearing up to start my 1st CdS and have seen people recommended sleeping bag liners to protect against bed bugs. Do these help or is it a myth? Should I add the extra weight of bringing one?
