España — Tierra, Agua, Fuego, Aire (book from 1969)

As I was going through old bookshelves to find enough fat books to stack up to make a “standing desk”, I came across one I bought in Spain in 1970 when I was there as a college junior. It is about 500 pages of pictures of Spain from that time period. One thing that is amazing to me is how the pictures look like they are much much older than 50 years (due, I guess to the fact that Spain did not really emerge into Europe till the 80s). Another thing is how many pictures of places on so many caminos there are. I don’t think i have looked at this book for 35 years, well before I started walking caminos, and it is a treat.

Anyway, it is available on Amazon for a mere $23. It was a production of the office of tourism and some of the photos are pretty unremarkable, but many are very nice. For me, it was a very nice way to spend some time when Spain is so far away.

Buen camino, Laurie

I am very sorry for all those that over the years sought my advice on walking the Camino, and always postponed. Now who knows when they will be able to.
