There is a right way and a wrong way to art restoration. Clearly someone goofed in this instance.

I hope they can bring in a proper restorer to remove the badly applied layers of 'makeup.'

Yes I read about that in the newspaper today on the camino... I didn't think it was that bad? The Borja incident looked worse. They haven't changed the expression of the face, at least...?

Perhaps Estella is hoping there will be busloads of tourists to see the restoration?

I may be wrong but the incident seem as though it has stemmed from possibly a missing step, one where the restorer would present the, "Procedures and Anticipated Results," for approval before the work was initiated.

In Project Management, this is an essential turning point and must be completely accepted by the Customer so when the project is complete, the results are exactly what is expected.

Here is hoping they can reverse the, "restoration," and the desired result can still be achieved.

The statue is attributed to a known master (name is Tarín or Terín).

From Terín to Tintin apparently is not a very large step...
