I got here today from Puenta la Riena and can report a couple of things. First the track is now bone dry but it is obvious that those who passed over it during the recent wet period had a terrible time. Now all there are are the ruts and slip marks and lots of wildflowers - the red poppies are just gorgeous. Second, the big crush of pilgrims seems to have slacked off. There are still plenty but here at the municipal refugio there are still lots of beds - some people are checking in right now at 18:30. The hospitelero told me things have been pretty slow lately. The rainy weather seems to have gone away for at least a time and it is warm and sunny now.
Off for Los Arcos in the morning.
