On our first day of walking the Portuguese a couple of months back we met a girl who was in the group that started on the very first day of the first walk last year. She loved it (despite distances being much further on some days than what the plan said - although I hear that has been fixed this year so you won't be doing any marathons unless you choose to). I am also keen to complete this walk some time (but hopefully starting in Versailles and continuing on to Venice at the end), so I will follow your blog with interest.

I am walking this starting 18 August. There are nine days over 25km and there are a couple of consecutive days of 28 km. In total there are 24 stages. Of the 24 stages, nineteen days are over 20 km. Whilst I am looking forward to this exciting "Camino of Peace" I am worried about the many expected hot walk days. Walking 28 - 30 km on very hot days will be challenging in itself.

In due course I will put a blog together for this walk. I will endeavour to do this whenever I find wifi and if I am in a fit state of mind to do so.

From what I have read and learned this should prove to be another wonderful camino experience.

I have been updating my blog as often as possible (almost daily). And added a video page as well. Tomorrow I start Day 6 with a new group. It has been challenging.

Hi, RFAW,

I'm reading your blog and enjoying it very much. If one of the planned overnight stops of the EPW is Ljubljana (Slovenia) you can contact me if you would need anything, be it just an evening drink or a short tour through the city :)

Buen Camino!

Wonderful blog with a rich voice. It's satisfying to read posts that cover the good, the bad and the ugly as well. Very best wishes for the rest of your Peace Walk and congratulations on finding your way to an expansive life in accordance with your spirit!

I appreciate that. It's been rather frustrating and I will be covering that in more detail. I'm also trying to put daily videos on my Facebook page: www.Facebook.com/RoamFarAndWide

I can imagine that those who first started walking the Camino again in the early 80s found themselves in such conditions as well. Now we have the luxury is easy paths, thanks to them.

People have often said to me that they appreciate how I write about the bad as well as the exciting on my blog. Reading the same on yours has helped me understand them!!!! Kia manawanui (be steadfast)

Like the others, I really appreciate the honesty of your postings. Looking forward to the rest of it.
