Camino francés (2016, 2017, 2018)
My father and I set off on the Camino de Santiago in 2016. With zero physical prowess, a proclivity for panic attacks and a litany of unpacked emotional baggage, what could go wrong?

Join me, my dad, and my fanny pack full of medications as we embark on an uncomfortable journey to the realization that sometimes what we cling to the most is exactly what we have to let go....

Fellow pilgrims, if you have walked the Camino, I hope my story makes you relive your fondest memories, landscapes and moments on the trail.

If you are considering walking the Camino, I hope by the end of my book you are convinced.

Kristin: Finished book ... Published 28 July - Ordered 29 July - Arrived 30 July - Finished 1 August. Ths world is moving faster than ever!
Fun to see some of same places (Metal works after Estella, etc, etc) that we have experienced in our 4 trips of about 200k each. For us the inspiration was not The Way - not even close .... It was Hape Kerkeling's humorous, 'I'm Off Then' from 2001. You may have taken a playbook from him?
IMG_2578.JPGYour book was perfect for our times of no travel. Thanks.

I just ordered it. The first few pages on Amazon were really good.

The 2024 Camino guides will be coming out little by little. Here is a collection of the ones that are out so far.
On every Camino there are always a number of fellow travelers that you meet for a brief and pleasant moment that you think you’ll never see again. That was the case between me and Kristin with her Dad. Each one of the numerous reunions that followed were full of smiles and laughter and good humor. I’m so happy for the way things have worked out for Kristin.

The book was an easy, fun read that proves the point; we all have an interesting backstory and a unique experience on the Camino, but few of us have the courage and vulnerability to share it so openly.

During these crazy times of politics and pandemics, do yourself a favor with a few hours of Camino escapism.
