Favorite place to overnight in Barajas?

Prentiss Riddle

Anyone have a favorite hotel or hostal in Barajas to spend a final night before the flight home?

We’ve stayed at the Hostal Aeropuerto and eaten at the closest bar around the corner. They were acceptable, nothing special.

Also, today I learned from this post that you can walk from the historic center of Barajas to terminals T1, T2 or T3 of the Madrid airport via a pedestrian bridge, thus avoiding a €20 cab ride or waiting for a local bus. First time I’ve run into that at a major airport. I’m trying to verify the details.

3rd Edition. More content, training & pack guides avoid common mistakes, bed bugs etc
We spent the night in hotel Don Luis. We walked from hotel to the airport, it took about 20 minutes. The route is quite complicated, but the map will help it. The hotel is modest but functional. The hotel does not have a restaurant but there are several on the street.

If you do have the time....Take the metro train to Atocha and book hostal "Sleep in Atocha" 3 min from Atocha and Prado Museum and lots of restaurants.

I stayed recently in the Hostal Viky, which has a free hourly shuttlebus to/from the airport. It does not serve food, but is close to the main square which has a number of cheap restaurants. I paid €47 for a single room via Booking.com, but you may get a cheaper rate direct. Room was very modern, clean, comfortable and quiet.

It's easy to find a cheap hostel just off of Puerta Del Sol in Madrid. There are many, many places for Tapas!

In the morning leave area about 4 hours prior to international flight. Walk about 3 blocks to Atocha train station and take Circanias to terminal 4. You may need to catch free terminal bus over to your departure terminal.

Same for us last October. Very convenient, budget friendly.

I stayed at Clement Barajas a couple of years ago. I had a morning flight, and they offered a free airport shuttle. The room was very nice, and I ate a restaurant down the street.
