FCS/ Health Control Form

Evening all, back again!

As per the title I'm looking for some information about applying for the FCS/ Health Control Form. I'm flying from Ireland into France on the 14th of September to then take a bus/train across the border to Irun that same day. I've just took a quick look at the SPTH website and it mentions specifically to click whether you're flying into Spain or getting a ferry there before you fill out the form. Being that I'm actually flying to France first can anyone tell me is it still okay to fill out that form to say that I'm flying into Spain, or how does it work? I am unvaccinated.

Also, how soon ahead of time does that form need to be filled out?

It might seem blindingly obvious, but at this stage I'm overthinking everything to make sure that I won't be stopped for something I missed once I've actually arrived in another country. Any input would be great.

Thank you!

Just read an WSJ article re: EU travel/related info - hopefully you'll find informative

I am unvaccinated.
Could you read the WSJ article? I couldn't, because it is behind a paywall. The Spanish QR code is useless for you, even if you filled in the application in a way that the system sends you one. It is only of use at arrival in a Spanish airport. The email that you get together with the Spanish QR code even says this:

You must present this document at the sanitary control of the destination airport. You can print it or show it from your mobile. This document is personal and non-transferable. You are responsible for the information provided, that is included in this document or QR. You are also responsible for its custody. We recommend its destruction / deletion after having shown it at the airport health control.
As you are not vaccinated and you are coming from Ireland and France, both of them risk areas under Spain's categories, you are legally obliged to have a valid negative Covid-19 test when you cross the French-Spanish land border at Irun. Controls are unlikely but fines are a remote possibility if no compliance.

Spain has not yet introduced nation-wide or region-wide rules about access to restaurants, albergues and hotels that would require proof of vaccination for those who are vaccinated and proof of a recent negative test for those who are not vaccinated. Other EU countries have done so, there is a possibility that Spain could follow their example during your Camino this September/October.

So be prepared for having to pay for regular testing. But I guess you are planning to do regular self tests anyway? In the UK, the NHS recommends doing a rapid test twice a week (every 3 to 4 days).

I could read it, and it's really not relevant to this discussion, since @Daniel Crowe is coming from Ireland, not the US.
And it doesn't say anything new anyway. It's mostly speculation about what European countries will do regarding US tourists in light of the US being removed from the safe list.

I couldn't read it either because of the paywall. You bring up a very good point that this article is not relevant to the discussion. There are so many what if's and so many extenuating and particular circumstances that many articles I have read (not necessarily on the forum) have little relevance to pilgrims walking in Spain or just some relevance. I think that by far most people are traveling directly from their home country to Spain. Looking on the Spanish websites especially:
Which has a link to this page:
Please correct me if I am wrong as I do not want to pass along partial or misinformation but it seems to me that the information I have posted above is all anyone would need if they are traveling to Spain to either start or finish their Camino (Camino Portugese or a French camino)
I know little to nothing about the situation starting in Portugal or France although there seems to be from observation only, more confusion about those landing in France and either starting there or using France as their connection to either SJPP or somewhere in Spain to begin their camino.
