Am I the only fool starting the vdlp from Saville in February?

Hey @Waka
I'll be walking into Seville about a week after you as I'm starting out from Gibraltar and then up on the Via Serrana.
Just seen the long-term weather forecast and it indicates a large lump of snow as we head toward Galicia. So fearing another ''beast from the east'' I picked up a pair of snow spikes at Mountain Warehouse. Very little weight and ÂŁ14. I'll try and catch up and PM you if I am getting close - so that you can provide that vino tinto you promised ;)

I am starting in mid-March but would February be better??
Not sure about the start dates, I picked Feb because I wanted to miss any hot weather. Had a training hike yesterday and it was swealtering, I’d rather have the cooler weather.

No problem with the vino Tinto. I also picked up some snow spikes on the off chance. I haven’t followed any weather forecast yet, quite looking forward to the surprises.

I'm starting from Valencia in February so will do the VDLP from Zamora to Astorga in the first half of March. All because I wanted to spend my March birthday on the Camino and we have to be in NZ for Easter. So if you are a fool, we are too.

Lol! I started VdlP last Feb.17, and walked from Seville to Salamanca. Lots of cool mornings, but I didn’t see any snow. I packed YakTrax just in case. It was lovely! Buen Camino!

I wish I were a fool in February too.
In Japan, there is a festival (Awaodori) where people perform a traditional dance and sing "Those that dance are fools. Those that do not dance are fools. All are fools, so you might as well dance."
