Ferry between Caminha and A Guarda Update

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
How fast it goes. Less than a week I got this message from Info Miño in Galicia

from the INFO MIÑO website today I received the following message concerning the ferry between Caminha and a Guarda.

" Since 29th April 2014 the Ferry boat is not working, due to a trouble in the navigation channel in the Río Miño, it needs to be dredged and right now there´s not agreement between Spanish and Portugal governments.
It was expected to sail again soon, but certainly I think we´ll have to wait for a while."

So I am happy to read this new message although I agree with Rebekah " First seeing than believing." as we say here in Holland , freely translated.
To me it should fit because my wife and I will start from Viana do Castelo the second week of May 2015.
But even if there is no transbordador, we will arrive in a Guarda. There are many ways to get there as we found out earlier this year when we stayed in the Caminha area for over a week.

Anyway thanks for sharing

Thanks for sharing Ivar. Hope it works out. they are talking about it since such long time.
We Dutch are world famous about our waterworks, dredging, making artificial islands and reclaim land from the sea so for our contractors it should be a job with -as a Dutch proverb says - can done with two fingers in the nose :D which means it is such easy to do. Why wait so long ?
Hope we can use the ferry again beginning of May 2015 when we start the Portugese da Costa from Viana do Castelo.

Många takk, godt Jul och lycklit nyt År och kanske vi ses næste gång i Santiago
