It would be lovely to know the festivals in each town during the year to try and plan stops in those towns or villages.I realize that the dates may change year to year but maybe there is a special website to visit for this year...

Regards to all who walk and will walk soon ..mentally and physically :)

If you want to run into really local fiestas, just walk the camino frances in August. The place is hopping with fiestas, you are bound to run into at least one (and be kept awake all night with the racket!)

The big wine festivals I know of are grouped around the vendimia, the grape harvest -- traditionally in mid-September on the long-weekend feast of Nuestra Señora de las Viñas.. at least here in Castilla y Leon. (La Rioja always has its own thing going on.) You´re bound to see some action then around Cacabelos and Villafranca del Bierzo, and in the Ribeira region around Ourense if you´re on the Via de la Plata.
