Will it be hard to find cheap accommodation on the route if I will start late June?
This is my first camino and I will be going solo, I am not a really experienced walker, should I choose a different route?
Are there any Vegans who have done this route, was it difficult?
Thanks!! :)

The focus is on reducing the risk of failure through being well prepared. 2nd ed.
I'm on the Camino Norte now, it is very busy, many more people walking than I expected. From friends farther down the route I hear the same reports. Many albergues are filled up completely and pilgrims will have to walk on for the next Albergue, or find a bed in a private Albergue or ho(s))tel. This will be more expensive. I don't know how the situation will be in june
One of the forementioned friends is vegan, she walked about 5 caminos, so it is doable. If you want to eat out in restaurants you won't have many choices and you will have to explain many times what vegan means and what the difference with vegetarian is

Hi Eva,

I can interpret your accommodation question 2 ways: 1. Is there cheap accommodation on El Norte? 2. Will you be able to get a cheap bed to sleep given the number of pilgrims walking in June. I can only answer the first.

I walked El Norte alone this year in March. There are a few Donativo Albergues (you decide how much you donate); the Municipal Albergues all cost 6€/night (no breakfast); there are a few convents/monasteries (Parochial Albergues) that are either Donativo or cost 5-6€ (some give simple dinner and coffee + bread for breakfast); private Albergues are 10-15€ and usually provide breakfast (coffee/tea, toast with jam maybe yoghurt). The municipals will all be open in June, they are clean, fairly modern, and perhaps you can try to plan your days to stop in smaller towns this avoiding having to run for a cheap bed. Buen camino.

HOl,
I'm going to start in Irun on june 6th
Does anyone also starts

A young vegan couple from Albany did the Camino Frances last year, and a vegan friend (also from Albany) is doing it right now--she should be around Leon now. Vegan is definitely doable on the Camino Frances.

You are right, but she also asked about a different route. If it is fairly easy to eat vegan on the Frances, it should be possible on the Norte.

Why would that be do?
