Hi All,

I am wondering if any of you know if there are any secure online sites for banking on the Camino Frances? We plan on staying in hostals, hotels... might any of these places have secure sites? We will only need them a half dozen times, but this is a bit of a conundrum. Thanks for any help you can offer.

You have to use your bank's site; you mean secure networks. No network that many strangers are also signed into is secure. Period. If you have a smartphone, your own data connection would be the most secure way to do this. Hotel wifi is NEVER secure.

EDIT If you don't have a smartphone or tablet with a data plan, then I would consider doing bank by phone instead, if that's possible for you.

If by banking you mean paying bills while you're away, you can set up automatic bill payments with most banks -- at least in the US. You can also set up automatic transfers between accounts if you're worried about overdraft protection, but be prepared to pay an additional fee for that (and have another account from which to draw funds).

Thanks @jmcarp . It is more a matter of moving money around.
Then as @pudgypilgrim said, the telephone is probably your most secure option. Don't forget the time difference between Spain and your banking location, and of course, your verbal password.
