Finisterre Day Trip

Yes, as above, take the bus from Santiago. Easy peasy! Finisterre is not large and you won’t have any difficulty enjoying everything there on your own. When you’re done, it’s easy to catch a bus back.

yes you can do it yourself, although there are guided tours and day trips from Santiago that take in Finisterre including the Cape and lighthouse

Personally give it a miss it was extremely commercialised and scruffy most disappointing place of all my Caminos.

I was happy last year in July with the booked daytrip. Nice bus, good driver, very nice talkative guide.
A good investment of 45€ for the whole trip.

I enjoy going to the lighthouse, quite a walk to and from town but the walking is why I am there in the first place. Not sure it's worth a day but as Tinker says, good bus trip if you want to see it without the walk.

I found Muxia a better place for a day IMHO

I think the Monbus to Fisterra was 7,20 per trip. No idea what the schedule is, but the one we took to Fisterra took almost 3h, following the coastline and stopping often. If you enjoy these views not a bad trip. The one taking us back took only a little more than 1h, driving directly on the fastest route without stopping.

I personally like the place quite some and always spend a day or two there. If you are only interested in going to the lighthouse you don't need as much time. So doing a day trip would not be the worst idea i guess, but i would recommend taking at least one of the direct connection buses so you dont spend more time on the bus than in Fisterra...

We took the day tour to Finisterre/Muxia and found it very informative and fun. Many historical stops along the way coming and going with a wonderful guide who shared information and stories at each stop that we would not have known on our own. Given time to explore at each stop. The bus was very comfortable. Worth the reasonable cost.

Like others, I took the guided day trip (in 2022). It was very enjoyable and I was pretty tired and happy to be driven around!

If it's not raining too much think about walking. It's delightful. If you do take the bus, think about overnighting in Finisterre. It's delightful. Visit the Fishing Museum up on the hill. Buen Camino

We went for the day with a company who had an office right there in Santiago as you are walking into town. It was on the right side of the street. It was a great day. We stopped in Muxia and went to Finisterre then stopped at a nice place for a late lunch altogether somewhere on the way back. Highly recommend doing that!!

Few days ago we took a bus around 09:00 am arrived 11:30
Had plenty of time to walk to the lighthouse, spend time there, walk back for lunch at the harbor and time at the beach Langosteira an bus home 18:45. Back in Santiago at 10:00 pm

We took the day trip with Galscia Tours. Visit to Muxia included. Highly recommended.

We…4 retired guys…rented a car and spent time in Finesterre and then an excellent lunch in Muxia. A great day. Highly recommended.
