Hi again,
just thought I'd let my new online Camino community know of my reason for doing the Camino Frances next May.
I work as a trainer for Nottinghamshire Fire and Rescue Service in the the uk. 3 years ago, I suffered a cardiac arrest whilst in the gym, and has a subsequent triple heart bypass procedure.
As part of my rehab, I was sent to a rehab centre which is funded by the Fire Fighters' Charity and is a resource available to all uk Firefighters and their families.
I am now fit and well, partly due to my stay at the centre, and feel it is time to give something back. So I am now walking the Camino as a fundraising venture for the Charity.
It sort of has a strange symmetry to it, don't you think? From patient to fundraiser in only three years!
Just thought I'd share that with you guys. :)

The one from Galicia (the round) and the one from Castilla & Leon. Individually numbered and made by the same people that make the ones you see on your walk.
The first edition came out in 2003 and has become the go-to-guide for many pilgrims over the years. It is shipping with a Pilgrim Passport (Credential) from the cathedral in Santiago de Compostela.

Hi Frank, as the mother of a fire fighter/Captain in his precinct, I can well understand your feeling of payback. It is a brotherhood like no other - a tried and true family. I wish you great success in the endeavour. Buen Camino

Hi Frank - "and feel it is time to give something back" - Perfect!
