First albergue on the Cádiz-Seville route

According to a post on a Spanish forum, the first refuge on the Cádiz-Seville route is due to open tomorrow in Alcalá de Guadaíra. It's donativo, and from what I understand, is 1.5 km off the highway, but very close to town/downtown.

That's helpful information. I suspect this route is growing in popularity. A few weeks ago I was walking along the riverbank in Seville and the route into the city from there is route is now very clearly marked with arrows,

That's good to know. I'm thinking about walking from Cádiz, but am put off by the likely cost of accommodations.

Apparently there's also a private albergue in Cádiz. It's a backpackers' albergue called the Cádiz Inn. The address is calle Botica 2, and is 15 euros, including breakfast and internet. I think there's a 10% discount if you have a pilgrim's credential.

the Asociación Gaditana http://www.asociaciongaditanajacobea.org/ have been busy waymarking the route over the past few months. See their revista "Pro iter agentibus" on their website for some photos (files are quite large and seem to take quite a while to download)

Don't be misled by this - this is an entirely different route to the one promoted by the local associations, seemingly a route someone on a bike took several years ago.
